No surfers, no money
Ok, so you
have built some extraordinary sites? Well, it doesn't matter how
awesome they look or how hot models they feature - if you don't get any
visitors you won't make any money! Therefore, serious adult webmasters
should spend a good amount of time and energy in order to attract
surfers to their sites. In general, the rule holds: The more traffic,
the more sales! However, there are exceptions, and they are all related
to quality.
If your traffic is of high or good quality you may very well earn a lot
of money even if the actaul number of surfers is not very large. A few
guidelines regarding adult traffic:
- Niche traffic is of higher quality than mainstream traffic.
- Surfers who found your site through a search engine are more likely
to buy memberships, services or products than other visitors.
- Traffic originating from North America, Western Europe or other
wealthy regions are often of higher quality than traffic from other
parts of the world.
- Premium traffic is often NOT of higher quality than free traffic. On
the contrary...

These guidelines can be translated into a few tips:
1. Build niche sites.
Don't try to cover every fetish in one single site. Create specialized
sites for targeting different surfer groups.
2. Optimize your sites for the search engines, especially the three big
ones: Google, Live (MSN), and Yahoo. Link popularity is the most
important determinant of PageRank. Popular sites have a large number of
incoming links from other sites on the web, primarily well established
sites with relating content. So go find some good link partners!
3. Sign up with services offering free adult traffic, such as toplists
and banner exchanges. But don't settle with poor quality,
remember to evaluate these services after some time.
Good luck!
